Terms of Use
Last updated: July 2026
Here are the terms for this grade calculator, in plain words. Using the site means accepting them; if you would rather not, please don't use it.
What it is
A free calculator that turns a score into a percentage and letter grade, works out what you need on a final, and applies a curve. Use it for schoolwork or teaching at no cost.
Scales differ
The default is the common US scale of A 90+, B 80s and so on, but schools and courses set their own boundaries, sometimes with pluses and minuses or a higher A cut-off. The official grade is whatever your school uses, not this tool.
Accuracy
The arithmetic is simple and we take care with it, but weightings and rounding rules vary by class, so check a result that affects a real grade against your syllabus.
Fair use
Everyday use has no limits. Please don't flood the site with bots, copy it wholesale, overload it, or use it unlawfully, so it stays quick for the next student.
Ownership
The look, the code and the writing are ours. The plain maths, that 17 out of 20 is 85%, is everyone's to use. Just don't republish the whole site as yours.
Links
We link to references. Follow one and you are on another site under its own rules and privacy terms, not ours.
Availability and liability
The site is provided as it stands and as available; features may change or pause without notice. To the extent the law permits there are no warranties, and we aren't liable for losses from using it or from downtime.
Updates
We may revise these terms; the dated copy on this page is the one in force.
